Privacy policy
Effective September 6, 2026. YourGiftMatch provides an editorial gift-finding service for visitors in the United States. We designed the Gift Finder to work without an account, payment, or email address.
Information used by the Gift Finder
The finder uses the answers you choose, such as recipient category, occasion, budget band, broad age range, interests, and gift style, to calculate recommendations. These answers are kept in your browser session so you can move between the finder and results. Starting fresh or ending the browser session clears that session copy. We do not currently retain finder answers in an app-owned production database.
Technical information
Our hosting and security providers may automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser or device details, timestamps, requested pages, and security logs. We seek to limit this processing to what is reasonably needed for operation, reliability, fraud prevention, and security.
Email, accounts, and payments
Email collection and email delivery are not currently available on the site. YourGiftMatch does not require a visitor account and does not accept payments or handle checkout information.
Analytics and advertising
YourGiftMatch uses Google Analytics and Metricool to understand aggregate website use, traffic sources, campaign performance, and useful gift paths. Analytics storage is denied by default, and Metricool loads only after you allow analytics. When Google analytics storage remains denied, Google may receive limited cookieless measurements used for aggregate reporting and modeling. Google advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization remain disabled. Custom events use bounded identifiers and counts; they do not include names, email addresses, free-text finder answers, payment details, or raw merchant destinations. We do not sell personal information or use this measurement for targeted advertising. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy choices button.
External merchant links
If you choose a clearly labeled paid link, you will leave YourGiftMatch and visit the merchant. The merchant may collect information under its own privacy policy. YourGiftMatch does not control the merchant’s site or privacy practices.
When information may be shared
Information may be processed by service providers as needed to host, secure, and operate the site, or disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or maintain service security. We do not authorize service providers to use information for unrelated purposes.
Retention and security
Finder answers are designed for browser-session use. Technical logs may be retained by service providers for operational and security needs under their applicable practices. We use reasonable safeguards and data minimization, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
YourGiftMatch is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Your choices and questions
You may start a fresh finder session at any time. For privacy questions, access or deletion requests, or concerns about this policy, email hello@yourgiftmatch.com. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date before they take effect when advance notice is appropriate.
